Data can show you the knowns of high-stakes decisions, but it is your inner voice that guides you through the unknowns. 

Choosing whether to adopt AI is fraught with uncertainties and possibilities. 𝗧𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Early in my career, after completing my MS, I shared my excitement about the potential of AI with my professors. However, they warned me against moving into AI as a career. That period was one of several “AI winters,” when AI funding and interest took a dive.

Even though I believed AI was set to revolutionize the future, I didn’t trust my instincts. Instead, I listened to the external voices and pivoted into data technologies and predictive analytics. While it was a good career move, these days I can’t help but think, “What if I'd followed my gut?”

That experience underscores that when it comes to using, implementing, or integrating 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.
