Blustery New York City wind and rain didn't stop Abhijit Patharkar and me from getting to the AI Summit this week.

We saw so many interesting applications of AI, which seemed organizable into 2 categories:

- data: management, discovery, modeling, and usage

- productivity: reducing time to do stuff, and eliminating human tasks that machines can do

It highlights the emphasis we need to place on leadership in the new IT era. For example, sending utilities out to create models from an organization's entire data set is subject to the same data hoarding or siloed management issues we previously encountered when building data warehouses and data marts.

🔦The ultimate tip is: begin now by fostering an organizational rather than a departmental mindset toward data ownership.

While compliance-related separations and border protections must always be maintained, the conscious leadership skills highlighted in my book F.O.R.G.E.D. are essential for this work.

I'm excited to share how the Forged principles apply to leadership in the rapidly evolving world of AI. Stay tuned for insights in the coming weeks.

DM me so i can hear more about your challenges with this.

After the summit, the rain was still falling. While we'd stayed dry inside, my choice to walk back to Grand Central had me dreaming of a cozy fireplace. Since i don't have a fireplace, I'm happy for invitations. :)
