True innovation and innovative leadership don’t emerge from rigid oversight. They’re superpowers that come from seeing old problems through new lenses, pushing boundaries, and rethinking what’s possible.

🦸‍♂️Micromanagement is kryptonite that kills them.

A dinner with top executives last week naturally brought up AI, but the conversation took an unexpected turn.

I floated a dream: What if rule-based operations, like tracking workflow dates and approvals, were fully automated? Imagine an AI assistant that not only reminds but optimizes messaging for better responses. Smarter workflows, better outcomes.

Some leaders saw the potential. Others hesitated.

But one response insisted (paraphrased): "𝘐𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘵, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘮𝘦, 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘥 𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵. 𝘚𝘰 𝘐 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧." The example reminder? Timesheet entry. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳? 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

🚨Let’s be real: 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀, 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻. Micromanagement might feel like a form of superpower, but it’s not. It’s fear, it’s a lack of trust, and it’s a lack of focus.

Today’s F.O.R.G.E.D. AI Spark is Recast Ideas.

✅ Are you pushing innovation or clinging to control?

✅ Are you enabling your team or making them dependent on you?

✅ Are you leading for the future or stuck in the past?

🎈It’s time to take off the micromanagement armor that’s holding you back from leadership. Let it go.

What’s one outdated leadership habit you can recast this week?
